On January 15–16, 2026, the Forum dedicated to quality assurance in higher and postgraduate education is taking place at Nazarbayev University. The event brings together representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, university rectors and vice-rectors, international experts, accreditation agencies, and members of the academic community.
The first day of the Forum was held on January 15, focusing on practical aspects of quality assurance in higher education. The program featured international workshops by ASIIN and QAA, which addressed common challenges and effective approaches in preparing universities for international accreditation, as well as the role of external stakeholders in ensuring and enhancing educational quality.
Special attention was given to the export of educational services and best practices in international accreditation during the NAAR workshop. In addition, a meeting was held with rectors of higher and postgraduate education institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The discussions were highly practice-oriented and focused on sharing experience and practical tools that universities can already apply to improve the quality of academic programs and institutional management processes.
The Forum continues its work. Tomorrow’s agenda includes thematic sessions on the assessment of research outcomes, improvement of the state regulatory system in higher education, as well as a plenary session with the participation of the leadership of the Ministry and international experts.
