The mission of the department is to conduct scientific research aimed at the comprehensive professional training of students in accordance with educational standards for the younger generation -to create an educational environment and to develop the competencies that ensure professional activity in the technology of modern educational processes, including the creation of information and software for automated systems.

 A master's student from Taraz Regional University named after M. Kh. Dulati, who studied under the dual-degree educational programme, defended their dissertation.

The dissertation was defended by a student of the ‘Information Systems’ department, 7M06113-" Regina Gubareva, a master's student on the ‘Corporate Information Systems and Technologies’ programme, defended her thesis online from the Bragança Polytechnic Institute (Portugal) on the topic ‘Time Series Extraction in Smart City Data.

The master's thesis analyses big data on water consumption and examines the impact of the pandemic, social phenomena, and demographic trends on resource consumption trends. The thesis supervisors, Associate Professor Gauhar Sarsenbai Borankulova, Ph.D., from the Department of Information Systems, and Professor Rui Pedro Lopes from the Bragança Polytechnic University, gave the work high praise in their reviews. The members of the commission from both sides assessed the work as “excellent”.

This work is the first result of the double-degree educational programme between Taraz Regional University named after M. Kh. Dulati and Bragança Polytechnic University.

In 2004, he graduated from the Faculty of Information Technologies at M. Kh. Dulat Taraz Regional University with a degree in Economist-Informatician, and in 2006, he obtained a Master's degree from the same faculty. This aptitude for swiftly applying knowledge to practice led him to the banking sector, and from 2005 to 2008 he worked as a manager at ATF Bank. In the same year, he sought the position of Deputy Director for Small Business at the rapidly growing Alliance Bank JSC, where he worked until 2011. In 2011, he was invited to head the branch of Jinaq Bank JSC in the city of Taraz. To this day, he combines his banking work with teaching, training future businessmen – students of Dulatov University.

The educational programmes developed by the department are aimed at preparing undergraduates in the field of modern IT technologies. Graduates are prepared to work in the computer and information services of state bodies, in industrial enterprises, financial institutions, research institutes, design organisations, educational institutions, and commercial companies and firms.

The educational programme (EPP) complies with the requirements of the State General Compulsory Education Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Higher education. Bachelor's level. The implementation and development strategy of the educational programme is carried out by the Department of Information Systems of the Faculty of Information Technology, Automation and Telecommunications:

State General Educational Standard of Higher Education. No 604 of 31 October 2018;
Typical Rules for Organising the Educational Process by Credit-Based Learning Technology (No 152 of 20 April 2011).

The programme is focused on a natural science, mathematical, and engineering foundation, aimed at developing the graduates' general cultural, universal, and professional competencies.

The aim of the MSc programme is to develop general and professional competencies in accordance with the Qualifications Framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the preparation of specialists in the field of information technologies.

The programme is designed to ensure the graduate's professional competence, instil a sense of civic responsibility, and foster a commitment to continuous professional development and other personal qualities.
