Professional biography/Education

Junisbekov Mukhtar Shardarbekovich was born on 1 November 1951 in Jambul. In 1969, he graduated from Lermontov Secondary School in the village of Alekseevka, Zhualinsky District. From 1969 to 1974, he studied at the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after V.I. Lenin, majoring in Automated Control Systems.

In 1979, he enrolled in and in 1982 graduated from the postgraduate programme at the Moscow Textile Institute named after A.N. Kosygin.

From 1987 to 1991, he was head of the Department of Automation and Electronics, and from 2001 to 2023, M. Dzhinisbekov worked as head of the Department of Automation and Telecommunications. From 2009 to 2010, he worked as director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Professional Development, and from 2023 to the present, he has been a professor in the Department of Automation and Telecommunications.

The Department of Automation and Telecommunications trains bachelors in the following educational programmes: 6B06211 ‘Multichannel Fibre-Optic Networks and Communication Systems’, 6B07122 ‘Automation and Informatisation in Control Systems’ and master's students 6M070200-Automation and Control. The initiator and developer of the above educational programmes is Junisbekov M.Sh.

In 2013-2015, Prof. M.Sh. Junisbekov won a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 20 million tenge for scientific research and was the head of the project ‘Development of small-capacity mobile wind power plants’. Prof. Junisbekov M.Sh. also participated in a competition for scientific and technical projects organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and won a grant for the project ‘Intelligent street lighting – an optimised system of controllable autonomous LED lamps with high efficiency’.

Junisbekov M. holds eight patents for inventions and has authored more than 280 scientific works and publications, including 25 textbooks and six monographs, five of which were published abroad. He has been awarded certificates of honour from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the akim of Zhambyl Region, and the ‘Ulagat Usta’ akimat. Taraz, the M.H. Dulati Medal, is an honoured worker of education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and was awarded the title of ‘Best University Teacher’ in 2009 and 2023.
